Employability Report

Cases brought to the attention of Citizens Advice Hounslow (CAH) advisers highlighted the challenges people with health conditions face when trying to access and remain in employment. These cases prompted the Research & Campaigns team to investigate the issue further and better understand the experiences behind these barriers.

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with CAH clients who had previously sought advice about difficulties finding or retaining employment while living with a range of health conditions.

The project had two key aims: first, to understand the experiences and barriers faced by individuals with health conditions in accessing and sustaining employment; and second, to explore what changes or support they felt would help improve their employment prospects and experiences. The findings from these interviews will be used to inform future recommendations and campaigns aimed at reducing barriers to employment.
