The Adviser role is a generic one that encompasses both face to face and telephone channels. However, the term is often used to descie an experienced volunteer adviser that has progessed and successfully completed the Adviser Skills Level 2 training programme, while gaining practical experience seeing clients on appointment, whether by phone or in person. Having acquired more experience of the main enquiry areas and being familiar with the processes within the Hounslow Citizens Advice service, an Adviser is able to provide detailed information and advice to clients, requiring minimal supervision.
